On 20th of March, 2010, Prime Minister of Republic Of Srpska, Mr. Milorad Dodik, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republic of Srpska, Prof. Dr. Ranko Škrbić, Head director Of the Clinical Center of Banja Luka, Mirko Stanetić, PhD., together with coworkers, supervisory authority, contractors and designers, visited the Clinical Center of Banja Luka, where they visited the site of the South Wing of the Central medical block.
After laying the foundation stone on 9th of September, 2009, the South wing of the Central Medical block build two investors (the Government of the Republic of Srpska and Euromedic) and two performers, by the unique, international projects and under the unique control of the works.
South Wing of the CMB, will represent a reference building which will accommodate outpatient diagnostic facilities. Therefore it will be resolved one of the major ailments of the Clinical Center, which is mixing of patients who come to the examination and the patients who lie in the Long Term Care. South Wing of the CMB will be built in two phases. The first phase includes construction of lamellas A and B. A Lamella, area of 9000 m2, by the PPP model, builds Euromedic, as a strategic partner of the Government of the RS, and in its basement will be a Center for radiotherapy, area about 1500 m2, and on the level of the ground floor will be located oncological and hematological clinics, and on the first floor will be the surgical intensive care with operating rooms. Building lamellas B, area of 9000 m2, was financed by the Government of the Republic of Srpska. In it will be located part of the X-ray diagnostics, outpatient facilities for maxillofacial and orthopedic surgery, and internal and outpatient center for burns.
In this phase of construction is envisaged to fully equip the center of radiotherapy and its putting into operation by the middle of this year. This is extremely important, not only because of the financial effects, but also because it is necessary at this time to make every effort that our patients are treated adequately and avoid unnecessary waiting time for radiation therapy in other centers.
In the second construction phase of the southern wing of CMB is planned construction of lamella C and fully equipping the entire area of the southern wing, except for a radiotherapy center. In the lamella C are predicted other diagnostic and therapeutic parts of the policlinic part of the southern wing (Laboratory, Department of Nuclear Medicine, endoscopic cabinets, neurological, and ophthalmology clinics). This phase of construction and equipment was financed by the Government of the RS.
Therefore, we are extremely pleased to inform you about the progress so far, on the works on construction of Phase I, the southern wing of a CMB, Clinical Center of Banja Luka. First of all, to start construction of the southern wing of a CMB, Clinical Center, it is necessary to provide all necessary project and technical documentation, urban-technical conditions and, at the end, the building permit. All these items were a prerequisite for beginning the execution of works.
Construction of Phase I of the southern wing of a CMB of the Clinical Center of Banja Luka began in September 2009 and flows smoothly despite minor delays in construction due to poor weather conditions.
Today we can say that about 55% of the work is completed on the construction phase and the southern wing of CMB. Finished works are next: earthy, waterproofing works, and it is largely made the reinforced-concrete structure building.

In the next month and a half, we expect to complete construction of reinforced-concrete building and begin the installation of the facade. Along with the installation of facades begin work on drafting the roof and the final construction works at the Center for radiotherapy. Equipment for radiotherapy is in stage for the delivery for the center in Banja Luka and it wil represent the most advanced equipment for radiation therapy, and the Center for radiotherapy, within the Clinical Center of Banja Luka, will representi the most representative center in the region of southern Europe.
Construction of the complex object is a very good example of cooperation of all participants in the financing and construction.
