Department of Psychiatry is a highly differentiated and reference institution in Republic of Srpska in its field, where diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are conducted for children and adults with various mental disorders and diseases. Within this department we do standard hospital treatment, residency and sub-residency training and examinations, evaluation of therapeutic measures, psychopharmacotherapy , psychotherapeutic procedures (individual and group-analytic therapy, systemic family therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family psychotherapy), team processing and psychoeducation of parents, couple psychotherapy, psychotherapy for parents, play therapy, child education, group socialtherapy, various socialtherapeutic activities (occupational, recreational …) in order to accomplish re-socialization of persons with mental disorder, psychiatric analysis of the assessment, team processing, and applications of electroconvulsive therapy. During psychological diagnostic procedure various steps are undertaken which may include following activities: an interview, an assessment of intellectual abilities of children and adults, child observations, interview with a companion/partner, a child development assessment of psychomotor ability, quantitative and qualitative assessment of the degree of deterioration with different diagnostic analysis, exploration of personality, giving psychological analysis. At the clinic, socio-anamnetic interviews may be done, as well as socio-therapeutic sessions, family counseling, and provision of social expertise. Clinic provides consultative and consultative review for other organizational units of the Clinical Center.
Department consists of four departments:
- Department of General Psychiatry,
- Department of Child and puberty Psychiatry
- Department of neurotic, affective disorders and crisis situation
- Department of substance abuse
Within boundaries of these departments operate sections against alcohol and drug addiction and daily center for methadone therapy.
Resident and sub-resident polyclinic examinations can be taken according to the following schedule: Resident clinic for general psychiatry on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. until 14:00 p.m., and on other weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 20:00p.m. Subspecialist clinic for children and adolescents on Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. until 14:00 p.m., and on Wednesdays 14:00 p.m. until 20:00 p.m.
Subspecialist clinic for substance abuse is on Tuesdays from 14:00 p.m.
20:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. until 14:00 p.m.
Subspecialist clinic for family therapy is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. until 02:00 p.m.
