
Milovan Milanović, PhD, was born in Mravica, near Prnjavor, where he finished four years of Elementary school. He finished our Grammar school in 1955, which lasted for eight years, and in 1961, he finished Medical Faculty in Belgrade.
He worked as a doctor in Prnjavor until 1969, when he started his specialization in Internal medicine, at Internal department in Banja Luka, where he worked, after passing his specialized exam in Sarajevo, until his retirement. He enrooled the postgraduate studies in cardiology at the Medical Faculty in Zagreb, where he passed the Sub-specialist examination, and then completed his postgraduate studies and became Master of Science in 1980.He also defended his doctoral dissertation at the Medical Faculty in Banja Luka.He was chosen to be an assistant at the same Faculty in 1980, and later to be an assistant professor and a professor.
He founded a department for rheumatology at Internal Clinic. He also became the first director of the Clinical Center of Banja Luka, where he was the Head of the Internal Clinic for many years and, at the same time, he was the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at Medical Faculty.He is a member of the Association of rheumatologists and cardiologists of Europe.He was a participant in a study training in the U.S. and he Soviet Union for several times and he was a part-time professor of Internal medicine at the Dental Faculty in Lugano.He is an author of 27 scientific and professional papers, two monographs:Asymptomatic ischemic disease and Bronchial asthma in adults.He is coauthor of the book Cardiology Department of Interdisciplinary studies, Faculty of Medicine, Belgrade (Author of the chapter cardiovascular diseases of women).
He was a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in three seats and vice president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska from 1991 to 1996.Father of two children: son Nebojša and daughter Žakina.Grandfather of 5: Marko, Nikola, Sonja, Nina, Milana.
