Organizator kongresa bilo je Srpsko tireoidno društvo sa predsjednikom Naučnog odbora prof. dr Božom Trbojevićem i predsjednikom organizacionog odbora prof. dr Milošem Žarkovićem. Učesnici Kongresa su bili internisti, endokrinolozi, pedijatri endokrinolozi, specijalista nuklearne medicine, hirurzi koji se bave endokrinom hirurgijom, patolozi iz cijele Republike Srpske, te Ruske federacije. Prof. dr Snježana Popvić-Pejičić predstavila je originalni naučni rad „Uticaj starenja na funkciju štitne žlijezde i osovinu hipotalamus-hipofiza-štitnjača”, koji je zbog zanimljivosti teme izazvao veliki interes prisutnih učesnika.
