On July 28th, 2014, from 08:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m., the Counselling Centre for hepatitides and HIV infection within the Clinic of Infectious Diseases of the Clinical Centre Banjaluka will mark the World Hepatitis Day and provide interested citizens with services of anonymous, voluntary, costless and advisory testing.
The World Health Organization (WHO) established July 28th as the World Hepatitis Day with the aim of raising the awareness of general and professional public on spreading the disease, preventive measures and possibilities of successful treatment.
The lack of sufficient information on the disease, risks and ways of disease transmission, as well as on prevention of hepatitis B and hepatitis C results in the fact that infected people are not often aware that they are carriers of the virus and accordingly that there is a greater risk of spreading the infection.
In the above-mentioned period, all interested citizens can contact the Counselling Centre for hepatitides and HIV infection within the Clinic of Infectious Diseases.
