University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka Transplant team under the supervision of a Team of the Military Medical Academy Belgrade performed 17th kidney transplant (a total of five transplants performed this year at the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka).
The first transplant was performed more than four years ago at the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka with the assistance of a team from the Military Medical Academy (MMA) who participated in the process of education of our personnel. It is important to emphasize that all of the transplants done so far passed regularly i.e. without any uncommon complications. Our Transplant team forthe second time performed transplantation independently under the supervision of the MMA Transplant team.
17th transplant was performed on Friday, 5th of December 2014, and the transplanted patient was A.M. (1961) while the donor was his sister L.Z. (1972). Complete preoperative preparation of the patients was carried by our physicians at the Department of Nephrology of the Internal Medicine Clinic. Technique for the video conference with the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade was used during preparation for transplantation.
