On September 30th, 2014, in Banjaluka, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Srpska Dragan Bogdanic and Gerhard Reiter, a director of Vamed Company from Vienna signed a Contract on reconstruction and equipping of the Central Medical Block (surface area of 41.000 m2) and construction of a new North Wing of the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banjaluka (surface area of 17.000 m2).
The contract envisages performance of works during 42-month period plus 30 days which are necessary for mobilization of resources. Contract value is EUR 84 million plus VAT.
On the basis of its Decision issued on October 24th, 2014, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Srpska established the Team for monitoring the implementation of the Project on reconstruction and equipping of the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka i.e. Implementation Team comprising of:
- Nikola Bojic, MD, Head of the Team
- Marko Stanarevic, B.Sc. (Econ), Team member
- Tea Strika, B.Sc.C.E., Team member
- Zoran Padezanin, B.Sc. in architectural engineering, Team member
- Dragan Dubravac, LL.B., Team member
and appointed Project coordinators. They are:
- Assistant Minister for implementation of projects in the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Srpska
- General Manager of the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka
A task of the Team is to monitor implementation on a regular basis, to provide information on progress of the project implementation (construction works, equipping with medical equipment and furniture) and to regularly attend operational meetings in which Project Manager, Supervisory Body and Contractor will participate.
An Interim Supervisory Body was established – the Institute of Construction Banja Luka (ZIBL). Also, a representative of the Supervisory body was appointed – Mr. Ratko Glisic, B.Sc.C.E.
Team of Vamed Company was established and it is comprised of the following members:
- Oliver Hotz, Technical PM
- Wolfgang Weinmar, Business PM
- Dusica Cobic, Junior Business PM
- Gordana Perko, Planning Coordinator
- Asima Kadusic, Interpreter
- Nenad Zaric, Construction Site Coordinator
- Erich Unger, M/E Coordinator
- Zdravko Jankovic, Functional Manager for planning
During the first meeting which was held on October 28th, 2014, in their opening remarks, members of the Implementation Team emphasized the importance and priorities of the Project and offered their full support to its implementation.
During the following meeting that was held the next day, on October 29th, 2014, it was agreed that meetings between the Implementation Team, team members of Vamed Company and Project Manager would be held on a regular basis, once a week.
It was agreed that members of the team of Vamed Company should have access to the facility and interior premises of the facility of the UH CC BL.
The schedule of activities that should be performed prior to commencement of construction works was determined:
I phase Review of the existing technical and functional condition + analyses
I phase Adjustment of a phasing concept with regard to the results of analysis
II phase Drawing up the phasing concept and a dynamic plan
II phase Drawing up the dynamic plan in accordance with the phasing concept
III phase The concept of planning for obtaining the necessary permits
III phase Obtaining necessary permits on the basis of information from the previous phase
IV phase Construction site registration and establishment of construction site facilities
in accordance with actual situation (technical and functional)
V phase Commencement of works
The above-mentioned activities have already begun to be carried out and they are already in progress according to plan.
