In the period from February 5th to February 7th, 2015, the Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians of the Republic of Srpska will organize the School of Ultrasound in Gynaecology and Obstetrics “Primarius Petar Ristic“ in the Amphitheatre of the UH Clinical Centre Banja Luka (Maternity Building). The event will gather participants from the entire Republic of Srpska and from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The School of Ultrasound was named after Primarius Petar Ristic, MD, who was the first physician that started to use ultrasound both in Banja Luka and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Actually, he was the first physician that used this method in the former Yugoslavia after he had finished educational courses in Zagreb under the mentorship of Professor Asim Kurjak MD, PhD. With regard to the specificity of the profession, modern gynaecology and obstetrics can not be imagined today without ultrasound diagnostics and gynaecologists who are well educated to use this method. Therefore, the aims of this school are acquiring the basic knowledge and improving the existing knowledge with regard to the use of this diagnostic method in the most efficient way possible.Also, the aim is to establish the school in the scope of which lectures will be held periodically, according to the needs, since this is the unique and the first school of ultrasound in the Republic of Srpska and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. School is comprised of two courses:

  1. Basic ultrasound course (February 5th – February 6th , 2015)
  2. Course on fetal echocardiography (February 7th, 2015)

School will start on Thursday, February 5th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Amphitheatre of the Maternity Building of the UH Clinical Centre Banja Luka.
