In the period from March 26th to March 28th, 2015, IV Symposium of operating theatre nurses and technicians and sterilization nurses and technicians of the Republic of Serbia was held. This year’s event which was organized in the ethno village Stanisici in Bijeljina was dedicated to the role of nurses and technicians in different surgical procedures.
The high-level symposium was exceptionally well attended and it gathered participants from Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Representatives of the Service of Operating Theatres with Sterilization of the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka were among more than 120 participants, namely theatre nurses Olga Petrusic and Biljana Bojic, medical technician Negoslav Preradovic from the Service of Operating Theatres with Sterilization and Head nurse of the Service Rada Spanjic who held a lecture entitled „A role of operating theatre nurse in arthroscopic surgery”.
During the three-day programme, eighteen lectures were held in total. Besides lectures, a round table entitled “Organ transplantation” and one workshop were held as well. During the workshop all the participants were informed on instruments and laparoscopic staplers.
