On May 28th, 2015, the Association of Radiologists of the Republic of Srpska and the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka in cooperation with Bayer Company organized visit of radiologists of the University Medical Centre Ljubljana i.e. Dimitrij Kuhelj MD, PhD, Head of the Clinical Institute of Radiology, Assistant Professor Vladka Salapura MD, PhD and Igor Kocijancic, MD. On that occasion, at 6:00 p.m. in the Blue Conference Room of the Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of Srpska, respectable radiologists held lectures entitled: „Below the knee vascular-interventional procedures“, „Diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology procedures“ and „Minimally invasive percutaneous treatment of spinal and extraspinal bone metastases“. Lectures were attended by approximately fifty participants.
On May 29th, 2015, for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina, quests from Slovenia together with our specialists of radiology, Bojan Jovanic, MD, Miroslav Pavic, MD and Mile Cucak, MD and physicians from the Clinic of Vascular Surgery performed BTK (Below the knee) procedure in two patients in Angio Theatre of the Institute of Clinical Radiology. In certain patients, BTK procedure can prevent amputation of lower leg. Necessary material for performing the procedure was donated by Bimed Company – representative of the reputable manufacturer Medtronic. Head of the Institute of Clinical Radiology Sasa Vujnovic MD, PhD expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the performed procedures. Simultaneously with performance of the above mentioned procedures, an interactive neuroradiology workshop was held. It was conducted by Igor Kocijancic, MD. The workshop was attended by approximately twenty specialists and residents in radiology. Sixteen neuroradiology cases were presented and analysed. After the workshop, Igor Kocijancic, MD held the lecture dedicated to the latest trends in interventional radiology procedures in relation to treatment of degenerative disc diseases. This visit represents continuation of cooperation in the field of radiology between the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka and the University Medical Centre Ljubljana. This cooperation became intensive during the past ten years and numerous expert visits of our radiologists to Ljubljana and Slovenian colleagues to Banja Luka were organized during that period.
