IMG_3521On May 28th, 2015, the remaining pieces of state-of-the-art equipment were delivered to the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka. The procurement was made through the implementation of the Phase III of the Hospital Modernization Project in B&H.

The equipment is valued at $ 3.710.000. The delivery was attended by Acting General Manager of the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka Professor Mirko Stanetic, MD, PhD, Assistant Minister of Health and Social Welfare Milan Latinovic, MD, Zoran Aleksic, MD, member of the Project Implementation Team as well as Head of the Clinic of Cardiovascular Diseases Assistant Professor Tamara Kovacevic-Preradovic, MD, PhD. Crucial items of the delivered equipment are cath lab for interventional cardiology with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and cath lab for invasive cardiology/electrophysiology. Besides two cath labs, plasma sterilizer, holter ECG, patient monitor, 24-hour blood pressure monitor, defibrillator, ECG unit, cardiovascular ultrasound scanner with TEE probe, cardiovascular ultrasound scanner (portable type), treadmill, ergo cycle and patient and personnel radiation protection accessories set were also delivered. This equipment will provide improvement of services in the field of invasive cardiology. Therefore, capacities of the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka will be also improved. Accordingly, our institution will have two cath labs for interventional cardiology at its disposal as well as a cath lab for electrophysiology. Also, successful educational trainings of our physicians in South Korea confirm the fact that the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka strives to educate interventional cardiologists. Utilisation of this equipment will contribute to completing the range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in modern cardiology. It will also widen possibilities for providing the services to all citizens of the Republic of Srpska.
