On May 28th and 29th, 2015, Assistant Professor Jovan Matijasevic MD, PhD, Head of the Intensive Care Unit of the Institute for Pulmonary Diseases of Vojvodina, Sremska Kamenica visited the Department of Intensive Care Medicine of the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka. Cooperation between these two institutions formally commenced in February 2015, when Protocol on Cooperation was signed, especially in the field of intensive medicine.
During his visit, Assistant Professor Jovan Matijasevic MD, PhD together with our physicians from the Department of Intensive Care Medicine performed everyday activities in relation to treatment of critically ill patients. He also shared his experiences from the Institute of Pulmonary Diseases of Vojvodina with them. During his visit, our guest held a lecture entitled “Community-acquired pneumonia and hospital-acquired pneumonia“ after which the attendees encouraged constructive discussion that led to raising the awareness of the ongoing problem. The lecture was attended by pulmonary specialists, specialists in anaesthesia, infectious diseases, cardiology, internal medicine, paediatrics, microbiology, physicians from the Department of Intensive Care Medicine as well as other physicians interested in this field.
We hope that cooperation between these two institutions will be continued in the future.
