On June 2nd, 2015, pupils from the Primary School “Branko Copic”, accompanied by their teachers, visited the Department of Haemato-oncology of the Paediatric Clinic. On that occasion, our quests made our youngest patients happy and performed them a play entitled “Blue-Eyed”.
Also, candies, fruits and children’s music CDs were delivered. Accordingly, our quests wanted to spend some time with the hospitalized children and to make their hospital stay easier for them. They also spoke with physicians about method of treatment of patients as well as about other undertaken activities during long-term stay of children in hospital. In relation to treatment of children, it is very important to establish contact with parents and peers, because in that way they have constant psychological support and do not have the feeling that they spend time in hospital.
It was surely praiseworthy that these young people and their teachers decided to visit the youngest patients at least for a while. Accordingly, they set a good example for others.
