In the period from May 18th to May 22nd, 2015, in Belgrade, Regional Training Course on Hybrid Imaging: SPECT/CT, PET/CT and Sentinel Lymph Node Localization Techniques was organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Clinical Centre of Serbia.
Jovana Radanovic, MD, from the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Thyroid Gland Diseases attended the course on behalf of the University Hospital Clinical Centre Banja Luka.
The course was organized within the IAEA project – Strengthening Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography/Computed Tomography (SPECT/CT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET)/CT Hybrid Imaging Applications for Chronic Disease Diagnosis. The aim is acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge in the clinical application of the above-mentioned techniques. Participants were residents and specialists in nuclear medicine from South-Eastern European countries, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, (20 participants). Education will provide application of the acquired knowledge and skills in relation to the use of new devices (SPEC/CT and PET/CT) which have been provided to the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Thyroid Gland Diseases within the Phase III of the Hospital Modernization Project in B&H.
