Professor Goran Milasinovic MD, PhD, director of Pacemaker Centre of the Clinical Centre of Serbia visited Pacemaker Centre within the Clinic of Cardiovascular Diseases of the UCC RS. There has been long term cooperation between these two institutions. On this occasion, Professor Goran Milasinovic MD, PhD had the role of supervisor for implanting the CRT-d devices. Pacemaker Team together with Professor Goran Milasinovic, MD, PhD performed five procedures in patients for whom this method was indicated. CRT-d device is designed to recognize all disorders in patients. It serves as a therapy during heart failure and simultaneously for treatment of malignant disorders of heart rhythm.
Indications for implanting these complicated heart systems are heart arrhythmias, heart failures, left ventricular heart failure and right ventricular heart failure. Procedure can be performed in 20% patients that have this health problem and it can be complicated because anatomy of sick heart is altered and placement of electrodes can also be complicated. Other solution is sought for patients that can not undergo this procedure or leastways heart transplant is performed.
Besides the fact that Professor Goran Milasinovic is an exceptional doctor, he is also a writer for more than 25 years. Recently, he published a collection of stories „Ljekari”. He also published poetry collection “Neistraženi bolovi”, the epistolary novel “Voltin luk” and novels “Heraklov greh”, “Posmtrač mora”, “Camera obsura”, “Apsint”, “Maske Sofije de Montenj”, “Trougao”, “Kvadrat” and “Rascepi”.
