Nowadays, there are over 220 organizational units dealing with these issues within the Network.

These days, the Breast Centres Network awarded a membership certificate for 2015 to the Breast Unit of the UCC RS as an organizational unit that fulfilled current criteria in diagnostics and treatment of breast cancer. Accordingly, the University Clinical Centre of the Republic of Srpska becomes a referent institution in the Republic of Srpska and in Bosnia and Herzegovina for providing quality and modern approach in the treatment of this disease.

Breast Centres Network is the first international network of organizational units dedicated solely to diagnostics and treatment of breast cancer. It is a project of the European School of Oncology launched with the aim of promoting quality approach and improving of treatment of patients suffering from breast cancer in Europe and worldwide. Establishing of special units that deal with diagnostics and treatment of breast cancer (Breast Unit) was recommended by the European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists (EUSOMA), association of women suffering from breast cancer (Europa Donna) and the European Parliament.Breast centres are members of the Association and they meet criteria for diagnostics and multidisciplinary management of breast cancer. Prescribed criteria are related to providing the adequate services in radiology, surgical oncology, pathology, medical oncology, radiotherapy, reconstructive surgery and nuclear medicine.
