On October 14th, 2015, in the Blue Conference Hall of the Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of Srpska, a working meeting between doctors of the University Clinical Centre of the Republic of Srpska and the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation „Dr Miroslav Zotovic” was held. 

The meeting was attended by General Manager of the UCC RS Professor Mirko Stanetic, MD, PhD and director of the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation „Dr Miroslav Zotovic”, Primarius Goran Talic, MD. Before the official beginning of the meeting, both directors addressed the attendees.

Taking into account the fact that topics of the meeting were amputation, prosthetics and rehabilitation of patients with amputation, gathering was attended by doctors of the Orthopaedic Clinic, the Clinic of Traumatology, the Clinic of Vascular Surgery, the Department of Clinical Rehabilitation and physiatrists from the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation „Dr Miroslav Zotovic”. The meeting was attended by a large number of doctors from both institutions and the discussion on these issues was very useful. Marinko Domuzin, MD, specialist in orthopaedics and trauma from the Clinic of Traumatology of the UCC RS presented protocol of treatment entitled „Lower Extremity Amputation – Influence on Prosthetics”. The aims of the meeting were exchange of experiences between experts in these fields, provision of information on protocols of treatment for these patients and presenting the problems related to these cases. Primarius Biljana Majstorovic, Head of the Department for Rehabilitation of Patients with Amputation of Extremities and Post-traumatic Conditions from the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation „Dr Miroslav Zotovic”, presented information related to the methods in prosthetics for patients who underwent lower extremity amputation and their rehabilitation.

Also, one of the topics was reintegration of these patients to normal living. The conclusion of the meeting is that this type of gatherings should be organized more often, since they are very significant for cooperation between doctors of these two health care institutions whose primary task is the high quality patient management
