 University Hospital of Banja Luka Clinic Centre supported the “Association of Patients with Stoma”, who posted the setup of the colon in “Petar Kocic Park”, as activity with the goal to raise awareness on this health problem. Representatives of the Association reminded on difficulties of the patients with stoma, and called on the audience to pay attention on importance of preventive controls in order to prevent the diseases. Stoma is chirurgic opening on the stomach, known as “plastic bag on the stomach”, mostly caused by colon cancer, severe difficulties and inborn problems.

University Hospital of Banja Luka Clinic Centre was visited by volunteers of the Humanitarian Organization “Let’s be the men”, who donated the napkins, food for babies, gloves, disinfection materials and masks for the Surgeons. They delivered 300 napkins of the size 1 and size 2 for the Clinic for Gynecology, while the food was donated for the milk kitchen. Other goods were donated for the Clinic for Anesthesia and Intensive Healthcare.

World Week of Breast Feeding is being traditionally marked in the first week of August, with the goal to raise awareness on importance of the advantages of breast feeding, both for the mother and for the baby. The marking activities also have a goal to provide support for breast feeding, and to improve protection of the health of the mothers and babies. On that occasion, the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics was visited by RS Deputy minister of Health and Social Protection Doctor Amela Lolic.

Traditional dirge in honor of killed employees of the University Hospital of Banja Luka Clinic Centre was served on 1 August in Banja Luka. During the war 1992-1995, four employees of the Centre were killed while one of them went missing. Numerous employees of the Hospital attended the Dirge, and paid tribute to their killed colleagues.

Educated advisors of the Advisory Office of the Clinic for Infective Diseases organized activities on the occasion of World Day of Awareness about Hepatitis, and provided free of charge, anonymous and recommended testing on the markers of Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV, for all interested citizens. Yesterday, on 28 July 2014, there was total of 51 testing and out of that number, 4 patients were positive on HCV, and one was positive on HBsAg. Mr. Zdenko Simonovic as representative of the Association B12 (Association of persons diseased by Hepatitis) donated 50 boxes of Hepatil pills for the patients of the Hospital.
